Robert Koch

Regional Director of Development

Robert Koch

Robert joined the development staff in 2014 after working for six years across campus in the Gilliam Admissions House. As Associate Director of Admissions, his responsibilities included managing the Alumni Admissions Program, advising international students and planning special events, including the biennial Navigating the Admissions Maze Program.

A passionate higher education professional, Robert completed his M.S. in Higher Education in March 2014 with Drexel University and earned the Capstone Experience Award for his research on first-generation student enrollment decisions. During his undergraduate years at Davidson College, Robert studied economics, was captain of the swim team, worked on Residence Life staff and joined Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. After Davidson, Robert worked for four years in Admissions at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he developed more than a passing interest in bbq.

Since joining the W&L community in 2008, Robert has enjoyed taking in the area's natural beauty with weekend hikes and trail running. His current role allows him to focus on leadership giving in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. "W&L provides students wonderful opportunities to make the most of their education and grow into principled leaders; I value my work with W&L alumni and parents to further develop such a historic institution."
