The fall term edition of Open Air Waves, WLUR's twice-annual open mic night, will take place on the Washington and Lee campus on Thursday, November 13.
The event is set for 7:00-10:00 p.m. in the Elrod Commons living room. It will be broadcasted live on 91.5 FM and online through the WLUR web stream.
Open Air Waves provides a chance for musicians, poets, and other performers from the W&L campus and the Lexington and Rockbridge community to perform in front of a live audience and over the air. A panel of judges will award cash prizes to the night's top performers -- selected in the categories of Group Music, Solo Music, and Spoken Word -- with runners-up receiving prizes donated by local businesses.
Free refreshments will be provided for everyone in attendance. The event is free and open to the public.
