Study Abroad Certificate

Students who gain a thorough acquaintance with a foreign culture, develop inter-cultural communication skills and improve their understanding of cultural differences as a result of spending the equivalent of at least one long-term abroad may apply to have their achievement recognized through the Study Abroad Certificate. The Certificate is awarded by the International Education Committee once the student has demonstrated fulfillment of the above-mentioned objectives by means of the following:

• Study Abroad for at least one 12 week semester or its equivalent

• Conceive and produce a Visual Presentation (offered each semester)

Participate in at least two of the following, highlighting learning from abroad:

• Present at the Science, Society and the Arts Conference

• Visit a class and give a presentation

• Give a presentation at another opportunity

• Attend the resume writing workshop specific to abroad experiences provided by Career Development

• Attend the interviewing workshop specific to abroad experiences provided by Career Development

• Perform at Evening Abroad

• Perform at another event

• Write an article for the Ring Tum Phi, inGeneral, local newspaper, or other publication

• Active participation in the Global Council

• Independent study project

• Capstone

Provide evidence of participation to the Study Abroad Advisor in the Center for International Education By March 1.
