Washington and Lee senior Scotty Groth was selected as the grand prize winner at the fall edition of Open Air Waves, WLUR's live-broadcast open mic night, held on Tuesday, November 13, in the Elrod Commons living room.
Groth, a repeat winner for his work on bass guitar, took home the grand prize after earning first-place honors in the Solo Music category. The E. Mann Band was the first-place finisher in Group Music, while Libby Hayhurst '16 collected the top prize in Spoken Word.
Also featured in the Group Music category were bluegrass band Mountain of Fate, which finished second, and third-place prize winners Drew Martin & the Limelights. Richard Marmorstein '14 won second-place honors in Solo Music.
