Event Information

Exhibit Reception & Artist's Talk by Brent Green: October 17, 5:30, Wilson Hall's Concert Hall
October 2 - November 2, 2012

The work of filmmaker/animator Brent Green always begins with a story that is crafted word by word until it transcends the language to become part of a unique process of art-making. Green's films evolve from detailed, hand-drawn storyboards, which can take the form of paintings on anything from window frames to cardboard. Often morphing into sculpture, or even song, the narratives solidify until they form the basis for his "DIY folk-punk" animated films. This exhibition showcases the development of this young artist's ideas as he uses all forms of media at his disposal to embody the wonder, urgency, political angst and hope that are at the core of his work. Green's critically acclaimed films have been screened at numerous prestigious venues including The Museum of Modern Art (NYC), The Hammer Museum, The Walker Art Center and The Getty Museum of Art.
