AFY = Appropriate for First-Year Students: Courses noted as appropriate for FY students are taught at a level that makes them viable for most or all FY students. Other classes may be appropriate in exceptional circumstances but are generally designed for students who have completed introductory coursework at W&L or tested at an intermediate/advanced level.
