The duo Tanner Newsy won the grand prize at WLUR's winter edition of Open Air Waves, the station's live-broadcast open mic night, on Tuesday, March 6, in the Elrod Commons living room.
Tanner Newsy received the overall honor after being selected as the first-place finisher in the Group Music category. Scotty Groth '13 was the winner in Solo Music, while Drew Martin '13 was awarded the prize in Spoken Word.
The Solo Music category featured three other prize-winners, with Sara-Jane McDonald placing second and Lucille Lancry and Richard Marmorstein '14 tying for third.View the full list of the evening's winners below.
