Returning Gratitude

Kimberly T. Duchossois P'08

from The Bridge: Spring/Summer 2011 issue

Kimberly T. DuchossoisKimberly T. Duchossois gave a $1 million endowment gift to support competitive salaries for the University's coaches and to name the athletic director's position in honor of Michael F. Walsh, former athletic director at W&L and now special assistant to the vice president for University advancement.

"I am eternally grateful and indebted to Mike Walsh for the guidance, honesty and friendship he has tirelessly extended to us from the moment Ty expressed interest in W&L," Duchossois says.

Duchossois, of Barrington, Ill., is a former member of the W&L Board of Trustees. She has two alumni in the family: her son, Tyler R. Lenczuk '08, and her father, Richard L. Duchossois '44.

"I feel this is a fitting way to pay tribute to a wonderful man and to return gratitude for the gifts he has brought to us."

Through the terms of the gift, the athletic director's position at W&L will be known as the Michael F. Walsh Athletic Directorship.
