W&L Seeks Proposals for Community Grants

Washington and Lee University's Community Grants Committee is currently soliciting proposals from Lexington and Rockbridge County community for its fall 2010 proposal evaluation schedule.

Community Grants Proposals may be submitted at any time but are reviewed semiannually: at the end of the calendar year and at the end of the fiscal year. The deadline for submitting a proposal for the fall 2010 evaluation period is Monday, Nov. 15, 2010.

Established in the spring of 2008, the purpose of the program is to support non-profit organizations in the Lexington/Rockbridge community. The University will award a total of $50,000 during the program's 2010-11 cycle.

During the 2009-10 year a total of 34 separate proposals were submitted to the Community Grants Committee who then made $50,000 worth of grants to 23 different organizations.
