Couple’s Estate Gift Creates Professorship for University

from The Bridge: Fall 2009 issue

Stanley '31 and Ella "Nikki" Waxberg's significant estate gift to W&L was recently realized upon Nikki's death, in 2007. Stanley had preceded her in death by a decade, after a long and successful career as a New York City attorney.

Stanley was a shrewd and fearless investor. He and his wife made generous plans to support favorite charities, including a gift to W&L of almost $2 million. With this gift, the trustees of the Waxbergs' estate and W&L established the Stanley D. and Nikki Waxberg Professorship, which W&L may bestow on any deserving member of the faculty, regardless of department or school.
