Ronni Gardner

Director of Development for Special Projects

Ronni GardnerRonni joined the major gifts staff in 2005 after spending 12 years working in university advancement at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC she served as the Director of University Events for more than 10 years and moved into development working with the Carolina Women's Leadership Council. Before working in higher education, Ronni was a public relations and sports marketing professional with Muhleman Marketing, Inc., in Charlotte, NC. She earned her B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Florida.

At W&L, Ronni is responsible for managing the work of the 50th and 45th reunion committees and working with each class to achieve their fundraising goals. The most enjoyable part of her position is witnessing the culmination of months of work pay off when each class returns to campus in the spring for Alumni Weekend and reengages with the University and with each other.

Ronni is also responsible for special fund-raising projects such as the successful Campaign for Lee Chapel, which provided funds to renovate the Lee Chapel Museum and establish an endowment that will support Lee Chapel in perpetuity. "There are so many things to like and appreciate about Washington and Lee. What first impressed me, besides the breathtaking front lawn and the Colonnade, was the friendliness of the people I met-alumni, faculty, students and staff. It was clear to me from the first day I stepped on campus that this was a very special place."

Ronni works remotely for W&L from her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, Paul, and children, Tucker and Lily.
