Brandon has been serving as Washington and Lee's Corporate and Foundation Relations Coordinator since June of 2010.
Prior to joining Washington and Lee, Brandon was Director of Resource Development for Virginia CARES, a nonprofit provider of offender/ex-offender rehabilitative services. While at CARES, Brandon wrote and reported on multiple local, state, federal, and foundation grants, and conducted program research, agency outreach, and legislative communications. Brandon was also the Coordinator for Virginia Community Action Partnership's Planner Peer Group during his work with CARES; in this role he led biannual professional development workshops for the planning and development offices of over thirty agencies, and maintained a weblog and newsletter on fundraising practices and data. Before working at CARES, he was a Planner at Total Action Against Poverty, a Community Action Agency based in Roanoke, VA.
Brandon graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in English, and received his MFA from Hollins University in Creative Writing. He continues to write; his short fiction, articles, and editorials have appeared in multiple publications. His hobbies include the study and practice of sport/strength science, building personal computers, and keeping up with national and international issues of politics and policy.
