A senior was accused of Driving Under the Influence. He/She was found to have been operating a motor vehicle in Lexington or Rockbridge County.

He/She was found Guilty of Driving Under the Influence by a vote of 8-0.

He/She was found Guilty of Violating the University Initiatives on Alcohol and Other Drugs by a vote of 8-0.

He/She was found Guilty of Conduct Unbecoming of a Washington and Lee Student by a vote of 8-0.

The SJC assessed the following sanctions, in lieu of suspension:

  • a strike
  • a $200 fine
  • alcohol education and counseling
  • conduct probation until graduation
  • social probation until graduation
  • 55 hours of community service to be completed by graduation
  • a letter sent to parents
